A stranger in a strange land, Carl Bondeson arrived in America a short time ago from Kristianstad, Sweden. His first need and thought was for work - a job - where to find one. The newspapers seemed to be his only friend. They offered hundreds of positions, and a few days ago, through The Herald and Traveler, he secured a good job as piano pol... at the Charles M Steiff Piano Company of 146 Boylston street.

Young Bondeson came to see The Herald and Traveler help wanted editor yesterday and his story won todays prize in gold.

Bashfully he told a most interesting story of his life in Sweden and of his dreamings of America, finally realized by coming here.
Carl Bondeson now lives at at 84 West Newton Street. He is 23 years old of age and unmarried. Although he was a farm laborer in Sweden - in America he turned to manufactoring work having always thought of America as a manufactoring nation. After a few days in this country he obtained work as an apprentice in a piano factory and after acquiring sufficient knowledge of the trade secured his first real position through The Herald and Traveler help wanted advertisment.

He might never have won the $10 in gold for he did not understand The Herald and Traveler offer until one of his newly acquired American friends explained it to him and following his friends advice he came to see the editor. Considerably pleased with the $10 in gold, he stated that he was going to start a bank account with it.
The Herald and Traveler help wanted ad rendered its service. It found an experienced man for the employer and a needed start on his first job for a stranger in a strange land,
